Federation of New York State
Solid Waste Associations
From Our Chairperson…

“The Federation represents over 600 solid waste and recycling specialists who have over
4,000 years of collective experience in this very challenging environmental field…what an
asset!” - Meg Morris, Chairperson

Our Goals…

Develop appropriate public policy and legislative recommendations for consideration by state
and federal representatives
Foster more expansive and direct networks of communication
Coordinate memberships and mailings
Coordinate and hold joint conference annually
Multi-constituent…

Each of the three member Associations has developed a mission statement which reflects
their individual goals to promote sound solid waste management practices which are in
concert with the New York State solid waste management hierarchy, being the reduction,
reuse, recycling, resource recovery through waste-to-energy facilities and landfilling of
discarded materials.

Display Tables available
at the Federation Conference in May 2007

The NY State Association for Solid Waste Management is taking sign-ups for the
“Educational/Municipal Display Tables” during the upcoming Federation of NY Solid Waste
/Recycling Conference & Trade Show at the Sagamore. If you have an interesting or
educational display, give-aways or literature, please consider bringing your materials and
setting up a display.

You will be assigned one of the tables in the center hall – to set up on Tuesday (May 8) at
noon (after the vendors leave).  Displays will remain up until after lunch Wednesday.  Your
display does not have to be manned, and there is no cost.

There are 18 tables total (12 are still available), which will be assigned on a first come basis.

Please get back to me before Thursday afternoon if you are interested (I need to get the list
together now so this information can be included in the conference program)
